    Frequently
    asked
    questions

    Is Bench free to use?

Yes. No sign-up, no usage limits and no watermark on your downloads or GIFs.

Are my videos kept on a server?

Links and uploads are processed on the Bench server, because that is where the download and conversion happen. Every file is deleted automatically an hour after it finishes, and nothing is shared or listed anywhere.

How do I turn a video into a GIF?

Open the Video to GIF tab, drop in a clip or paste a link, pick the width, frame rate and length, then save the GIF.

    Which formats can I use?

MP4, WebM and MOV files go in for GIFs. Downloads come out as MP4, or MP3 if you only want the audio.

Can I convert many files at once?

Yes. Drop several files and they join the queue. Save each one on its own, or take everything finished as a ZIP.

Can I download from any website?

Bench works with most major video sites. Only download videos you own or have permission to save. Private and DRM-protected videos are not supported.

    Why is my GIF large?

GIF size grows with width, frame rate and length. Try 480 px, 15 fps and 5 seconds, then adjust. The "Smaller file" quality option helps too.
